Landforms Coogee natural pool project was recently featured in Australian House and Garden Magazine.

Originally two seperate apartments stacked on top of one another, the individual living areas were combined into a single dwelling with a single focus – open, relaxed living.

“We wanted something relaxed and laid back, with generous open-plan living spaces, including a new extension open to the garden,” says the owner. “Guests can sit along the concrete step overlooking the garden and talk to us inside when we are entertaining – it all works perfectly.”

A light-soaked pavilion containing living and dining areas opens up to the garden via stacking doors along the western side of the house. A polished concrete floor flows out towards the lawn and natural pool, set against a backdrop of western red cedar cladding on the garage and nook for poolside chairs. Formed concrete completes the chemical-free natural pool surrounds for a contemporary finish.
